Depaul Ireland has grown rapidly and is expected to continue to grow
into the future. The imperative now is to manage our organisation in
the most efficient, stable and sustainable manner. We need to develop
the IT systems infrastructure to support this purpose.

Depaul has successfully obtained funding to complete the replacement
of a number of key systems to bring a range of efficiencies to the
operation.

This funding includes the take on of a part time Senior Project
Manager reflecting the understanding that this is complex
co-ordination role which will require a Senior IT Project Manager to
implement successfully.

2. THE ROLE:

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a part-time **Apply on the
website**-month IT project management role. They will manage and
co-ordinate the implementation of HR, Time and Attendance, General
Ledger and Accounts Payable systems to replace outdated system and
bring improvements to these processes.

They will be:

* Responsible in ensuring the project is successfully implemented in
as cost-effective manner as possible and within the funding provided.
* Engaged with 4 different selected suppliers to complete system’s
implementation.
* Responsible for the co-ordination of the various internal
different areas and across the organisation to ensure the
implementations are fit for purpose but also take a pragmatic and
cost-effective approach to the implementation.
* Expected to document a project plan with a realistic roadmap to
show the co-ordination of activities but also as a basis to
communicate the support required from the organisation. This roadmap
will also form the basis for pragmatic reporting of progress, and
risks and issues as they arise.

The contract will be for 2 days a week for *
months, but the candidate will be expected to be flexible as the role
will need to coordinate with internal and external parties. This is a
hybrid role and it is anticipated to be a remote role with some office
time required for ad-hoc meetings and regular reporting to the
Director of Finance, Risk and IT.

3. CANDIDATE PROFILE

The role would be best suited to a more senior candidate with a proven
ability to be self-sufficient while still being able to be accountable
and work in a diverse environment. The candidate will as result also
have a proven track record of engaging with, and co-ordination of, a
wide range of internal resources and external suppliers.

They will be expected to create an overall project plan and roadmap in
conjunction with the external suppliers but also aligned with the
range of internal resources from the key areas to support the project.

The Candidate will need to be able to take on a facilitation role to
bring relevant internal resources and external suppliers together to
build out an implementation approach. They will be able to show an
ability to take a lead to ensure a pragmatic and prioritised approach
is taken consistent with the funding and charitable nature of the
organisation.

This will also be a ‘hands on’ and coaching role at times to
support parts of the organisation where experience of projects and
system implementations may be limited.

Experience of one or more of HR, Time and Attendance, General Ledger
and Accounts Payable system implementations would be an advantage to
bring to the role.

The part time nature of the role and charitable nature of the
organisation may appeal to Senior IT project or programme managers who
may have had a successful career and would like to use that experience
in an organisation and with people who strive to make a difference in
society.

The candidate will report directly to the Director of Finance, Risk
and IT but will be expected to propose a Project Board to manage the
project and report to this board on a regular basis.

4. KEY SKILLS

* IT project management with at least * years
plus experience
* Experience of creating a project plan and roadmap to align
multiple parties.
* Knowledge of project management methodologies
* Experience of one of more HR, Time and Attendance, General Ledger
and Accounts Payable systems
* Effective communication skills to an organisation with a wide
range of roles
* Ability to also work independently

Ability to be both sensitive to and work within the culture of a
charitable organisation
